Students
Successful careers start with a good education and the work experiences students get before graduation. Everyone deserves the chance to get a good start.
The Specialisterne Work Readiness and Preparation (WRaP) curriculum offers a proactive and structured approach for supporting autistic and neurodivergent students and their allocated support services in a higher education setting. The objective is to create a mock work environment to identify areas for needed skill development and future support for each student in an individualized way. This ensures each participant receive a comprehensive support plan to approach job seeking postgraduation.
The WRaP program provides training and structured education for students and educators to examine and evaluate skill development needed to ensure successful job attainment. Specialisterne will be there along the way to support the entire process. Each institution will have the opportunity to utilize the finalized curriculum and syllabus to be a self-sustaining and scalable course offering.
The curriculum includes skill building modules that are focused on executive functioning and self-advocacy. There is also a Work Zone project, which is designed to simulate an assignment that students may receive from managers. Students are also provided a customized workbook for self-reflection and a personal toolkit.
